Ban Your Boredom With A Romantic Getaway!

Author: Renee Michaels

You married so you could be with each other all the time, but now you're in a slump. You're busy running around bringing your kids to sports, music, dance lessons...you barely remember what, you just know you have to be at some address at this hour. You bring your job home and work evenings, you're always working on your house every weekend, cleaning and repairing. You've become a master juggler nearly 24/7.

Your relationship with your husband or wife has become a list of complaints that alternates with snappy rundowns of how your day went. And they hardly listen to what you're saying; they only want to make sure they get their turn to vent!

Work, work, work. And those marriage advice columns all say that you have to work on your marriage. Who the heck wants more work? You don't need to do more work; you want to have more fun together!

It's time to put a romantic vacation getaway at the top of your "honey-do" list. Whether you have time for a week vacation, a weekend getaway or even an overnight hotel stay after a night on the town, you need to make the time for love and romance. Because its not going to happen by itself!

Plan a romantic getaway
Give yourselves the gift of leisurely time alone to discuss what youd love to do. Dont bother figuring out the How are we going to getaway? We need more time. We need more money. Who can take care of the kids? The dogs? part yet.

Just talk about how you want to enjoy time together having fun. Laugh about those great times you had in the past. Get your enthusiasm in high gear!

Paint a picture of where you would like to be: is it a long, romantic walk on a beach? Are you snuggling in a hot tub together? Would you like to cuddle in bed, nibble on gourmet goodies and make love all day? Go out to a concert then return to a luxury suite and party all night? Visit a favorite city or explore a new one together? Flirt over drinks at an elegant restaurant?

Do this a few times before you begin to plan anything, because you want to both be so excited about the romantic picture you painted that nothing will get in your way of getting there. It will only happen if you both want it so bad that the only thing you spend time on is how youre going to make your getaway happen! The surprising thing is that once youre both on the same page, youll be amazed at how solutions to any problem will arrive right on your doorstep.

A vacation getaway is a romantic gift to yourselves. Leave plenty of "let's get to know each other again" time and tune out the world and tune into your hearts.

  • Look for weekend getaway packages at fine hotels and resorts. Some may include show tickets or a restaurant voucher. Choose a destination closer to home so you don't spend your time traveling.
  • If you're flexible about your destination, youll easily find discount travel bargains. After all, isn't this is about time together? Who cares what hotel or resort you stay in as long as it's nice?
  • Can you take a few personal days off during the week? Youll get bigger discounts midweek anywhere, perfect for a quick 2 or 3-night stay and you wont see so many tourists.
  • Travel to hotels and resorts off-season. Not only will it be cheaper, but you may also discover that you can take a romantic stroll on a beach and have it all to yourselves!

No matter where you go or stay, its your love for each other that creates the ultimate romantic getaway vacation!
