Details of the USA Platinum Application

Author: Joshua Shapiro

The USA Platinum Credit Card has been designed for those who have poor or limited credit and have been looking for a way to establish or re-establish a positive credit history.

In spite of the $149.95 account set up fee with the USA Platinum credit card, this is reasonable in comparison to similar cards used for the purpose of establishing or re-establishing credit, some of whom charge fees anywhere between $200 and $400 during the first year of membership. Also on the positive side is the fact that the card has no annual fee and charges no interest on purchases.

They do adhere to their policy of “No Credit Check or Credit Turndowns.” However certain restrictions do apply In order to qualify for this card, you must be at least 18 years of age, a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (except in Wisconsin), have an active checking account, and must have a monthly income of at least $800 with no undischarged bankruptcies.

For those cardholders who become active members, the card will be reported to a major credit bureau. For those looking to establish or re-establish credit, this is an important piece of information. On the negative side, the card is not a major credit card, but a retail shopping card much like you would use by going to J.C. Penney’s or Sears. It can be used for purchasing merchandise on the USA Shopping Club website. This may be a drawback for some, but if you are one of those who is looking for a way to build a positive credit history and don’t mind that you can only use the card to make purchase at their website, this card can be quite an asset for your credit file. In addition, the fact that the card has no interest for purchases means you can build your credit through purchasing from USA Club’s website without going into debt paying high interest rates.
