Nokia 3310 Mobile Phone Review-Handset Features

Author: Bob Arndale

Despite being launched in 1999, the Nokia 3310 is still a popular user friendly mobile phone. It carries all the basic functions, but with no Bluetooth, Camera or Video features it is relatively basic compared to other phones on the market.

The Nokia 3310 cannot compare with modern phones due to the lack of features, and it is also criticised by the consumer for its low battery life and looking dated or unfashionable. Despite being praised for being durable, the one weak spot that the 3310 does have is the screen, with many people reporting how easily it breaks when knocked or dropped and costing as much as 15.00 to replace when necessary.

On the positive side the Nokia 3310 is cheap in price, more durable than a flip phone, has a slimline shape that makes it easy to carry, is praised for its simplicity and reliability and is an ideal purchase for the teenager or a first time buyer

The "simplicity" of the phone that consumers often talk about, comes from the fact that it is very easy to add a new contact into the address book, making a call is simple and the reception is reported to be crystal clear (depending on area and network) with the capability to increase the volume to a suitable level; and with a well laid out keypad texting is also easy.

The phone comes with many pre-set ringtones, has the facility for you to create your own and the sound quality is good; there are also 4 games to keep you amused and your 3310 can be given a new look with interchangeable covers. Other features include: a calendar, stopwatch, a reminder, calculator and alarm clock, which you will probably find useful from time to time.

The 3310 does exactly what is required of a basic mobile phone. It allows you to make calls and send texts with ease and is the ideal phone for someone who is not looking for modern features such as a colour screen, bluetooth or camera. It is therefore ideal for someone that does not get on well with new technology, as well as the younger teenager who may be a little heavy handed and therefore requires a more durable phone. Also, due to the lack of modern technology the Nokia 3310 would not cost the earth to replace if it was stolen or your teenage son/daughter misplaced it.

Features of the Nokia 3310 include:

Predictive text messaging,
35 ringtones plus ringtone composer plus customisable ringtones,
Voice activated dialling,
Data capability,
Downloadable games,
Animated screen savers,
Changeable front and back covers,
Size: 113 x 48 x 22 mm
Weight: 133g
Battery standby: 55 - 260 hours
Battery talktime: 2.5 - 4.5 hours
Vibration alert
Dual band
