The Himalayas a white water rafting experience of a lifetime!

The Himalayas offer some of the most exciting white water rafting in the world.

While people tend to think of Tibet and Nepal when they think of the of the Himalayas, India is becoming more popular and with good reason:

Its easier to travel to India and the scenery in the Indian Himalayas is truly breathtaking and with nearly a third of the Himalayas in India, there is something for everyone.

For the white water rafting experience of a lifetime India offers you everything you need.

White Water Rafting For All

White water rafting in the Indian Himalayas is exciting, there are holidays for all levels of experience.

For those who want the ultimate white water and rapid experience, to those who want a gentler trip. The Indian Himalayas offer something for both novice and professional rafters.

Here are just two white water rafting holiday experiences that can be undertaken, but there are of course many more.

The Brahmaputra River - rafting in a true wilderness

An exciting journey down one of the worlds greatest rivers, a holiday for the true adventurer.

The river, after flowing gently eastwards through Tibet, cuts the Greater Himalaya and the highest unclimbed mountain in the world: Namche Barwa, before it enters Arunachal Pradesh, a few miles from China.

The journey takes you through remote hillsides dotted with tribal settlements in clearings surrounded by leech-infested rainforest.

A 9-day trip from Tuting to Pasighat (180 kms approx.) through one of the most inaccessible regions in the world makes this a tough but rewarding journey in the Indian Himalayas.

The Kali River: White water rafting for a true adventure!

The Kali River forms the international border between India and Nepal. A journey down this river is one of the most exciting experiences in the Indian Himalayas.

The river flows past terraced farms and Nepali villages, fresh water streams, sandy beaches, thick tropical jungles and plantations. Continuing downstream, the river flows through the Terai belt negotiating exciting white water.

The lack of road access makes this a complete wilderness journey. After the first few days of serene water and occasional rapids, the river reaches the mighty Chooka rapid.

Then flowing onwards past the Terai hills out of densely forested hillsides.

This white water rafting trip is an outdoor wilderness experience which gives a spirit of adventure.
